Every now and then you build an instrument that turns out almost perfect and this Banjo Dulcimer did. It almost plays itself. It has a beautiful sweet, mellow sound that is just about perfect.
Pictures do not justify the beauty and incredible sound of this instrument. I wanted to keep it for myself!
I closed my shop in Gatlinburg, Tennessee due to Covid and am now selling exclusively online. This gives me more time for building which is what I love to do.
I have handcrafted hundreds of instruments over my 40 year career and this Banjo Dulcimer is my most popular and best selling instrument by far! I have sold hundreds of this banjo-style dulcimer.
This instrument has 4 strings and plays the same as a lap dulcimer, but is strung up opposite - so can be hung around the neck.
Crafted from select cherry and hard maple. Beautiful cherry overlay fretboard. Hand carved laminated 3 piece cherry and hard maple neck, 5 piece hand carved laminated cherry and hard maple head.
Soundboard is paulownia and Spanish Cedar, used for exceptional sound quality and resonation!
This instrument can be set up for left hand as well.
Brass gear tuning knobs.
