    Description

    Offered is a patent medicine folder advertising the supposed medical benefits of Euca-Mul, a concoction filtered through the bark of the Eucalyptus tree (California Blue Gum). The products purports to treat bronchitis, tuberculosis, and “all throat and lung infections.” Euca-Mul was manufactured in Los Angeles by the Edw. G. Binz Company. The Getty Museum (Images) has a black and white advertisement for this product and estimates the year of its ad to be 1921. This color, 4 page folder appears to be earlier based on a comparison of typefaces. The front of the folder features a color illustration of a California Eucalyptus grove.
    In the 1920’s, the company was meet with legal problems, including allegations of misbranding.

    Condition: Very good, with a very small separation at the left top edge and a small tear of the front cover on the right side. Printed on glossy, light stock.
