Dombra is an ancient musical instrument, a folkinstrument of Kazakhs and some Turkic peoples of Central Asia. The Saka nomadictribes used two-stringed musical instruments that are similar to the Kazakhdombra, more than 2,000 years ago.
Our Dombra are made according to the ancienttraditions of the Kazakh craft. Each dombra is a unique masterpiece madeaccording to old traditions and culture of central Asian nomads. Each dombrahas its unique print, which has its own sacral meaning. Each part is made exclusivelyby hand, without using machinery production and tools.
Production process of one dombra can go from twoweeks to six months. Basically dombra is made from coniferous trees - pine andlarch. The front part of the dombra, is made from Tien-Shan spruce, this is themost acoustic material in Central Asia. Basically, 95% of the musical data andthe quality of the instrument depend on this part of the instrument.
Our dombras are made of dry, noble wood thatgrows on the territory of Kazakhstan in the foothills of the Trans-IliAlatau.
