Such an unusual way of packaging pills-in a brass container shaped like a bullet. Not sure if this is just repurposing an actual bullet! Dr. Jarvis Bullets is the brand name of this product. It includes a cardboard medicine box, paper flyer and a brass container shaped like a bullet that contained 18 pellets (pills). Flyer and box say the cost is 25 cents. Flyer and box say the pills are for Torpid Liver, Constipation, Vertigo, Bilious attacks, Headache, Purgative, Excessive Drinking and as a Dinner Bullet. Made by the Jarvis Drug Corporation,18 West 34th Street, New York. The box is 2 inches long and 3/4 inches square. The container inside the box is shaped like a bullet and is slightly smaller than the box. I guessed at a date of circa 1900 based on the graphics and claims made. The cardboard box is in very good condition. The bullet container has oxidised (see photos). When you shake it, you hear at least one pill rattle. The paper flyer has some stains and loss of printing but many parts are readable. From a pet free and smoke free home-the items have no odor. Only item like it on Ebay (you can find some advertising on ebay for Dr Jarvis but no other actual products).
